Part 2

Creating Your First Collection

Lootero has already created a starter collection for you called “Start Collection” – think of it as training wheels. We’re going to rename it, give it a cover photo, and pick the right category so everything looks and feels like YOUR collection.

Step 1: Go to the Collections tab

Tap the Collections icon in the bottom bar (third icon from the left).

You’ll see one lonely collection titled “Starter Collection”

Step 2: Open the starter collection

Tap Start Collection → it opens in preview mode.

Step 3: Edit the collection

Tap the three dots ⋯ in the top-right corner → choose Edit.

Now you can customise everything:

  1. Title — Delete “Start Collection” and type something meaningful, e.g.
    • “Roman Coins”
    • “Luxury Watch Collection”
    • “Marvel Funko Pops”
    • “Bordeaux Wine Cellar”
  2. Cover photo (mobile only) — Tap the camera icon → take a new photo or choose one from your gallery. This photo becomes the big banner image everyone sees in the feed.

Collection Type (the most important field for sorting and AI help later) — Tap the “Collection type” field (it will be blank or say “Not set”). A list of popular types appears:

  • Coins & Currency
  • Watches
  • Wine
  • Trading Cards
  • Comics
  • Stamps
  • Art
  • Whisky
  • Dolls & Figures
  • …and dozens more.

Can’t find yours? Scroll to the bottom → + Add custom type and type whatever you want (e.g. “Vintage Video Games”, “Designer Handbags”, “Signed Baseball Cards”).

Boom! Your first real collection is born. You’ll now see the cover photo, the new name, and two numbers at the top: Cost: $0.00 | Value: $0.00 — These will update automatically as you add items.

Quick tip

You can create as many collections as you like (one for each theme, grade, storage location, etc.).

That was it – 30–60 seconds and you’re done.

Your collection is now ready to fill with items.
